“Adult sexy” is something we haven’t discussed enough. Why do we have “adult sex appeal”? There is an argument that this is simply a side effect of the biological reproductive drive. This argument is wrong! In fact, “adult sexy” can be broken down into four different categories related to why we are doing “adult sexy” and who we are doing “adult sexy” with.
Reproductive adult sex
Let’s start by looking at how babies are made. Reproductive adult sex is adult sex with the primary purpose of leaving offspring. Many people mistakenly believe that this is the only reason animals have adult sex (it’s not). Some adult sex believe that reproductive adult sex is the only valid way and that if you don’t want to have a baby now, you should be single, even if you’re in a romantic relationship. Until recently, adult sex was required for human reproduction.
Although sperm are needed to make contact with an egg, there are some options for reproducing without artificial insemination, such as in vitro fertilization and artificial insemination. However, most human babies are still conceived through artificial insemination. There is a limit to fertility; it requires a penis that can penetrate the vagina without impeding reproduction by any means. Intentional procreators may refrain from reproducing during periods when they are less likely to conceive. They may “go for labor” around ovulation to conserve energy for the period when they are most likely to have a baby. It can also be very adult-sexy. Trying too hard to conceive a baby can even affect your fertility.
Biologically speaking, reproduction is the primary purpose of adult sex. But we humans are complex, adult sexy animals… and even other animals do other types of adult sexy. So which are they?
Leisure Adult Sexy
Casual is adult sexy for should be enjoyable for all involved, and if it isn’t, then you’re doing it wrong. But adult sex can sometimes be messy, and adult sex can have more to do with communication than pleasure. We often have adult recreational sex with our partners, but this also involves trying new things. We can also have adult recreational sex with strangers (hookups), friends (friends with benefits), or, of course, with ourselves. Relaxing with a porn movie and a dildo or pocket pussy is a type of adult recreational sex! Recreational sex between adults can also be done for relaxation or stress relief. This is especially true for many forms of fetishes. For example, people who visit a dominatrix are often looking for a break from the decisions they have to make. It’s relaxing adult sexiness when there is no other purpose than “adult fun.”
Primal Adult Sexy
Adult sexiness is pure desire. It’s a time when you’re not thinking about anything else but sex.
Masturbating because you can’t take it anymore is an example of primitive sexual arousal. Sexual arousal is a basic need, but sometimes, you have to hold back. For some people, it’s a fetishistic performance that gives free rein to their animal instincts and seeks uninhibited sexual excitement. Arousal often means letting go of the typical “rules” of adult sex life, and for long-time couples, it can be a great way to breathe life into it. However, if there is too little inhibition, issues of consent can arise. If you engage in this type of play, trust your partner and use a safe word. Set boundaries and agree on what you will and won’t do.
Primal adult sexy, if done right, can deepen connections and transition into relational adult sexy. Be careful, though, as it can also portray adult sex negatively. Of course, adult sexy can go beyond some of these categories. Relational eroticism can also occur in ways that allow for reproduction. Leisure eroticism can be relational and, yes, primal. But all eroticism fits into one of these four categories, and it’s natural to explore the nature of your eroticism, find which of it you want to live out, and change it as you go through life. There’s nothing wrong with wanting lots of eroticism in your free time, and there’s nothing wrong with suppressing it when you’re in a relationship. But it can help you understand what’s going on in your erotic life, which can improve your relationship.
